If you are recruiter, this section will allow you to know me better. If you have further questions about me, please contact me.
Sure, I hold a Master of Economics degree. Through this course, I can critically analyse economic policy or business decision-making problems and apply relevant models and theories to generate effective solutions.
Previously, I was a UKM Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) and Allianz’s Digital Development Executive (DDE). As a UKM’s GRA, my task was to gather, clean, and study data sets to achieve research goals, i.e., determine the determinants of consumers’ purchase intention for palm oil downstream products. I managed to collect 733 data and completed analysing it one month before the deadline.
While in Allianz, I supervised over than 1,000 insurance agents to ensure high usage rates of all Digital tools and initiatives. Furthermore, I trained 10 to 20 insurance agents per session on Allianz Digital Application.
My experience and education have proven that I can conduct research, solve problems, communicate effectively, lead efficiently, and have strong analytical skills.
Excellent question. As a part-time graduate research assistant, I collect and analyse data sets to achieve the research goal, i.e., determine the determinants of consumers’ purchase intention for palm oil downstream products.
In this role, I am more than just a researcher. I am a leader where I have to recruit and convince four people to help me gather data. As a team, we manage to collect 733 data across Malaysia.
Furthermore, I am also a communicator where I have to present at a conference attended by 200 people and write 6,000 words long report for publication.
In conclusion, in my past role, I was a researcher, leader, and communicator.
Excellent question. My experience has proven that I am excellent at three areas.
First, I am good at problem-solving. I created a Chat-Bot and website about me that will save recruiters or HR personnel precious time. So that the interview session will be shorter, or they can ask a question that I did not touch here.
Secondly, I am an excellent leader. As a graduate research assistant, I am more than just a researcher. I am a leader where I have to recruit and convince four people to help me gather data. As a team, we manage to collect 733 data across Malaysia. Previously, I was President of Kelab PERKIM Universiti and Vice President of UNIRAZAK Toastmasters Club.
Finally, I am a superb communicator. As a Toastmaster, I have won multiple awards. For example, Presentation Mastery Proficiency Award, Visionary Communication Proficiency Award, and many more. I also conducted many public speaking workshops before.
If you are looking for a person who can solve problems effectively, lead efficiently, and communicate clearly, contact me.
Great question. I have 3 weaknesses.
My personality type is ISTJ based on MBTI. I have a difficult time coping with unstructured or chaotic environments. When this happens, I will either take charge to create a more organised situation or suggest it to people in charge. That’s the reason why people called me challenging. It’s because I pushed them to prepare the meeting agenda before any meeting.
Secondly, I have a very low tolerance for people who cannot differentiate between facts and opinions. When the situation occurs, I will either be insensitive or quiet because I respect the person. If one view can jeopardise collective goals, I am ready to argue.
Finally, I like to think thoroughly before making any decision. That’s the reason I dislike instant meetings where I need to make an instant decision. I am a structured person; there are frameworks in my head. It’s helping me make better decisions.
Marvellous question.
I like to learn new skills that can improve myself and my productivity. One of the skills recently discovered is creating a chatbot and website design.
Besides, I like to read books about investment and self-help. It allows me to be more confident and make better decisions.
Finally, I like to organise workshops. It helps me brush my presentation skills and meet new people from different backgrounds.
Great question.
First, I was once a part-time tutor. I taught Mathematics for primary and lower secondary levels. The job has taught me to be more critical. It is because some students give out of the box questions.
Secondly, I like programming. Despite not having any formal education on programming, I want to learn more about it through online courses. Programming helped to make my life easier.
Finally, I like to organise workshops. It helps me brush my presentation skills and meet new people from different backgrounds. The most common workshop that I manage is public speaking workshops.
Excellent question.
In 2019, I worked as Digital Development Executive (DDE) in Allianz on a contractual basis. My task was to ensure high usage of Allianz Digital Application among agents.
The challenging part of this job was to influence agency leaders to opt for digitalisation. They were reluctant to change because they believed their approach was good and there was no reason to change.
How did I overcome this?
I used Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) approach to elicit their highest value. The outcome helped in my negotiations. For example, one of the agency leaders highest values was an achievement. Since he was achievement-oriented, I informed him that our company provides awards for agencies with increased usage of digital applications.
By the end of my tenure, I convinced 90% of agents to opt for digitalisation. It was beyond company expectations because their goal was to achieve 80% of agents opt for digitalisation.
Good question.
Every work that I prepare, I will show it to people who have more experience than me. I anticipate feedback from them so that I can improve. I also try to get perspective from my colleagues or people that have the same level as me. By doing this, I can create better work.
If criticism still appears after getting opinions and perspectives from people, I will try to evaluate whether it’s quality feedback or just character assassination. Then, I will consider any quality feedback. For the latter, I will just tell myself to move on.
This is how I handle criticism.
Great question.
The last book that I read is Cryptocurrency Investing For Dummies.
I read the book to understand the reason for the high demand for cryptocurrency. I want to know whether cryptocurrency is backed by actual values.
As far as I read the book, Bitcoin (or most of the cryptocurrencies) is not backed by any gold or silver hence does not have any intrinsic value.
